Oriel marks a major step forward in eye health – a new centre that will bring together Moorfields Eye Hospital, the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, and Moorfields Eye Charity under one roof for the first time.
Working closely with the Oriel development team, we helped tell the story behind this move – the ambition, collaboration, and human impact driving the project. A key part of the communication focused on a new way of working – integrated working environments and collaborative workspaces designed to bring clinicians, scientists, and support teams together more closely than ever before.
We designed an exhibition to share progress with staff, patients, stakeholders, and the local community, using clear, accessible communication and thoughtful design to bring the vision to life. To encourage participation, we created a “thought tree,” where visitors could share their questions, reflections, and hopes for the future, a small but powerful way to make the project feel personal and inclusive. Set to open in 2027, Oriel will unite clinicians, scientists, and innovators in one world-class centre of excellence for advanced eye care.
